So this Valentine's Day, I wanted to do a special piece for my hubby and I since V-Day was the day we began our relationship together. Don't get me wrong, my wedding anniversary is far more important, but 2-14-06 is just as special to us since that was the day we took the first step to begin a connection between us.
I'm sure some of you are wondering why I used blues & greens for this piece instrad of the cliche pinks, reds, & white that Valentine's Day is associated for. Reds & pinks are sexual shades of colors, in my opinion. I associate them with raw passion & sensuality, which isn't a bad thing, but I wanted something more calm & tender. Since blue is Eric's favorite color & mine is green, I figured these two cool colors would go perfectly for this piece to how the calming side of romance, so to speak. =) That feeling when your lover embraces you and you just hold one another, lying there and enjoying the warmth and the simplicity of that moment of togetherness...
I love you, Eric, & Happy Valentine's Day, my love.

P.S.: I know this colored piece (and some of my other recent uploads) look a little wrinkley but the recent sketchbook I bought was a bit lower quality than what I usually buy, so that's my fault =_=; So try to overlook the wrinkled look in my colored pieces, if you would.)
