Closer and closer...

This is a very personal piece for a very dear friend of mine. You know who you are...

My dear, I know that in the past, I was a most unpleasant person to be around. Between the mean pranks and my threatening gestures, I was shocked everytime you still insisted being close to me and hung out with me. Since then, time has past and my trust has grown...selective. Needless to say, you know all too well those who've betrayed me and those who've broken my heart. You've been there when I feel like I'm at my breaking point, but you've also been there for me in my moments of happiness, like when I said, 'I do' to my husband, you did not judge me for my decisions nor did you judge the man I chose to live my life with. I know I'm sarcastic alot and not always easy to talk to, but it's because I've become paranoid to express my true emotions around people, still unsure who to trust anymore. So to express these feelings, I sketch artwork because sometimes I feel like this is the only way to tell people how I really feel about certain things. I just want to thank for being one of the few I know I can trust with my feelings, both the positive and negative, and thank you for being there for me when I feel like I have no one else to turn to (besides Eric). I love you, sweetie, and I hope you'll always know that.

365 Days of Music Project: January 10th - 16th

When I shuffled upon this song, I wasn't really feeling sad so I did a simple sketch of Chao in the fetal positon with some darkness around her. I figured that was sad enough. =/

When I was working on this piece at work, I got REALLLLLLLLLY bored (the day the snowstorm blew through Alabama) and I found some of the kids crayons underneath my hostess stand, so I got creative =)

Things have been kinda rough on me the past several days and I was glad when my iPod landed on this song for the day. For this one, I drew Chao post-battle and though she's banged up pretty badly, she'll still stand up and face whatever maybe thrown at her.

Wasn't really feelin the music that day... I figured since the title is 'place for my head,' I figured I'd do a piece of Chao seeming to go manic, cluitching her head to make sense of the madness around her.

Have ya'll ever seen the Bacardi commercial where the guy is going through different points in time and then walks up to the bar in the last scene? Do you remember the song that played in the background? Well, this song is it. When I hear this song, it mkaes me think of romantic where Cole & Chao would be staring out at the sunset. =) I started to do the silhouette with a sharpie but quickly realized that was a bad idea and used a crayola black marker instead.

When I heard this song, it gave me this image. Chao in darkness as she lets 'music' caress her, releasing her cares and letting the darkness possess her, both mind and body =)

Anyone who has played DDRMax2 for the PS2 will know this song. =) I really enjoy doing this piece. Very uppity and rave-ish. So I placed Chao in a raver-esque outfit with some magical floating music notes! XD

1/9: All as One by Trocadero

I've started a project on the 1st of January. It's basically for everyday, I will place my iPod on shuffle and whatever song starts playing, I'll put it on repeat and draw a sketch based on how the song makes me feel.

When I heard this song for the first time, it made me think how Eric and I, as husband and wife, are like one being. Not just during passionate moments, but in the ways we think, we speak, and when we do things. Eric and I are two souls, that work, think, and love as one...

The 1st day started off with a twisted song. The Pot by Tool. I know the song is technically about drugs but it gace me such a dark feel to it, that I just had to go with what I imagined. =)

Everytime I hear this song, it brings up old memories that hurt me terribly but I will not let this deter me from sketching my emotions. The song reminds me of a loved one I lost (not death wise) not too long ago, and it still hurts to remember their memories. I treasured them as I would a blood relative but due to decisions I made, I lost their friendship. I do not regret my decision, but I am still saddened by the fact they couldn't see past certain things for us to remain close...

This song from Nightmare Before Christmas always touches my soul deeply. Jack always sounds so...hurt. So in turn, I portrayed Chao in extreme sadness...even though it looks like she's trying to sing with the song X3 lol

So Far Away by Staind has always been a relaxing song for me. It's deep but at the same time, it lets me recall my past decisions and mistakes, and I figured the verse I wrote on the page was befitting for me.

Face the Truth by Rufio always brings back memories and how depressed I was when I had been dumped by a previous guy, but it also reminds me how comforting and consoling Eric was when I was at my lowest, reminding me to not think of ugly past things and look to a glorious and much brighter future =) The sketch may seem sad, but it's one of comfort to me.

Everytime I hear this song, I think of Chao, Seraphim, and Cole all in a highschool situation. Chao would the girl Cole (the singer) crushes on & Seraphim would be the jerk boyfriend Cole would be petrified of. Just a simple and cute romancey sketch for this song =)

This song would seem like a theme song right when Chao begins a sword battle with an evil enemy =)

This song title may not be familiar but think Romeo & Juliet with Leonardo in it ;) Remember that scene they first cross eyes? That's the song featured here. Even though the song is title 'kissing you,' I wanted to portray that moment of pure love showing right before lips meet. I think I done that nicely.
